FIRE DANGER UP TWISP RIVER

To All Our Twisp River Neighbors:

The fire up the river last night and this morning is an indication of at least two things:

  1. It is a very dry April
  2. We still have significant afternoon wind

Air quality at the Frost Road sensor on the evening of 4/7 was 55 – in the orange. On the morning of 4/8 it was up to 66. In the town of Twisp air quality was at 160 – in the red. It is only April.

Since we are all mostly confined, all some of us have is the ability to work outside – readying our gardens and irrigation, etc. Let’s have some good air, at least until maybe July????

Perhaps we can all agree to hold back on all burning until we get significant moisture. In my opinion we shouldn’t need a formal burn ban to see the sense in this. In the immortal words of Bob Dylan: “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows…”

Respectfully,

David Asia
